How to make air freshener spray

In the cold and piercing winter, we always hope that summer will come soon. However, when muggy summer truly arrives, we are also tormented by its heat. Aren’t friends who are afraid of heat tempted to stay indoors all summer? Even air conditioning can only do so much to beat the heat. In such high-temperature weather, going out is like sitting in a sauna—stuffy and dizzying. Moreover, summer is a prime breeding season for mosquitoes and insects.

Even if you hide at home, you still have to suffer from mosquito bites. Today, we’ll teach you to make a “magic tool” that not only refreshes and invigorates but also repels mosquitoes and purifies the air! Let’s take a look. You can use various fragrant leaves to make air fresheners, and if you choose flowers and plants that naturally repel mosquitoes, the effect will be even better. These days, many air fresheners sold on the market contain excessive chemical ingredients, and their quality is hard to judge. The toxic gases they release can also cause certain harm if we inhale them for a long time. Homemade air fresheners are far more reassuring—even if you have sensitive skin or respiratory problems, you can still use them safely. If you have these two types of plants at home, try making the air fresheners right away!

Mint itself has mosquito-repelling effects, and when made into an air freshener, it can also be used like floral water. First, pick fresh mint leaves, wash and dry them, then chop them and put them in a prepared glass jar. Next, pour some alcohol into the jar—enough to cover the mint. At this point, the smell will be very pungent. Seal the prepared glass jar tightly and let it ferment for a week; by then, its scent will have turned fresh. After a week, filter out the mint residue, dilute the liquid with water at a 1:3 ratio, and pour it into a spray bottle. This is your natural mint air freshener!

Lavender is another favorite among many friends. Its scent is relatively mild, and it can also help with sleep and relieve fatigue. To make lavender air freshener, first prepare dried lavender flowers: pick the buds and put them in a gauze bag. Boil some clean water, then put the gauze bag filled with lavender into the boiling water and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. After that, turn off the heat and let the mixture cool down. Pour the cooled lavender water into a prepared spray bottle, and your homemade lavender air freshener is done!

You can also mix various fragrant fruits and flowers to make a unique air freshener. First, prepare a heat-resistant container and pour clean water into it until it’s 3/4 full. Slice a lemon, wash some mint leaves and passion fruit, then add all of these ingredients to the container. Put the container on the stove and bring the water to a boil. Once it boils, turn to low heat and simmer slowly. If the water evaporates significantly during the process, you can add a little more water as needed. After simmering, filter out the solid ingredients (lemon slices, mint leaves, passion fruit), add a few drops of essential oil to the remaining solution, and then pour it into a spray bottle.
